The awarding ceremony for the 10th International Children’s Drawing Contest was held on 3 August 2009 in Tokyo. Drawings that best expressed the contest theme “Let us keep Planet Earth beautiful for our future!” were awarded prizes and special praise.
This contest is conducted annually through IQNet (The International Certification Network and JQA (the Japan Quality Assurance Organization) with the support of UNICEF.
Over 15'400 drawings were received in this year’s competition from students aged 7-15 years from 66 countries. Through these drawings, adults can visualize the children’s concerns and aspirations for their life on planet Earth in the future. These drawings eloquently convey wonderful messages that can communicate across borders, overcoming differences in ethnicity, culture, language even generations.
